Second Star Wishes is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner agency, and "When can I book Disney dining?" is one of the first questions every family asks us. When Do Disney Dining Reservations Open?

Disney dining reservations open 60 days before your dining date at 6 a.m. That's 6 a.m. Eastern for Walt Disney World and 6 a.m. Pacific for Disneyland.

Here's the part that trips people up: at Walt Disney World, guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel get a head start. They can book dining for their whole stay (up to 10 days) on the very first morning their window opens. That's called the 60+10 rule, and it's a big advantage for the hardest tables.

Disney Dining Quick Facts

  1. How far ahead can you book Disney dining? 60 days before the day you want to eat.

  2. What time do Disney dining reservations open? 6 a.m. Eastern for Walt Disney World and 6 a.m. Pacific for Disneyland.

  3. Do Disney Resort hotel guests get an advantage? Yes. At Walt Disney World they can book up to 10 days of their stay all at once, starting 60 days before check-in.

Enter your trip details below to see your exact booking day and a day-by-day list of when each dining date opens.

How to use it:

  • Pick your destination: Walt Disney World or Disneyland.

  • Enter your check-in date and number of nights.

  • Tell it where you're staying: for Walt Disney World, choose whether you're at a Disney Resort hotel. That decides if you get the 60+10 head start.

  • Set an alarm: put your booking morning on your calendar, with a reminder the night before.

TIP: Dates are based on Disney's current 60-day window. Disney can change its rules, so your Travel Specialist double checks every client's dates.

What Is the 60+10 Rule at Disney World?

The 60+10 rule lets Walt Disney World guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel book dining for their entire stay, up to 10 days, starting 60 days before check-in. Guests staying off-site book one day at a time, exactly 60 days before each dining date.

Here's why it matters. Say you check in on a Sunday and want Cinderella's Royal Table on Thursday. An off-site guest can't book Thursday until 60 days before that Thursday. A Disney Resort hotel guest can book it four days earlier, on their first booking morning, before most other families even have the chance.

  • Who gets it: guests with a Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation linked to their My Disney Experience account.

  • How many days: your whole stay, up to 10 days.

  • Split stays: if you move hotels mid-trip, each hotel reservation gets its own 60-day window.

  • Must do: link your resort reservation in the My Disney Experience app before booking day, or the later days stay grayed out.

How Do Disneyland Dining Reservations Work?

Disneyland dining reservations open 60 days before each dining date at 6 a.m. Pacific, and there's no 60+10 rule. Everyone books one day at a time, whether you stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel or not.

You book in the Disneyland app or on the Disneyland website. The most popular reservations are character meals and Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, so book those first.

Which Disney Restaurants Are Hardest to Book?

The toughest tables can be gone within minutes of 6 a.m. These are some of the most requested ones we book first for our families:

  • Cinderella's Royal Table (Magic Kingdom): dining inside Cinderella Castle with princesses.

  • Space 220 (EPCOT): a "space station" restaurant with views of Earth.

  • Be Our Guest Restaurant (Magic Kingdom): dinner inside the Beast's castle.

  • Topolino's Terrace (Disney's Riviera Resort): especially the character breakfast.

  • Chef Mickey's (Disney's Contemporary Resort): the classic Mickey and friends character meal.

  • Oga's Cantina (Disneyland): the Star Wars cantina in Galaxy's Edge.

How Do You Book Disney Dining on Your Booking Day?

A little prep the night before makes booking morning so much easier:

  1. Link everything ahead of time. Make sure everyone in your party is in your My Disney Experience (or Disneyland) account and your hotel reservation is linked.

  2. Make your wish list. Pick your top restaurants for each day, plus a backup or two.

  3. Have a credit card ready. Most table-service restaurants ask for a card to hold the reservation, and some charge a fee if you don't show up or cancel late. You'll see the exact rules when you book.

  4. Be signed in by 5:55 a.m. Have the app or website open and ready to go.

  5. Book the hardest table first. Start with the one you'd be most heartbroken to miss, then work down your list.

  6. Be flexible on times. If your perfect time is gone, look 30 to 60 minutes earlier or later.

What If the Restaurant You Want Is Already Booked?

Don't give up. Reservations open up all the time as other families change their plans.

  • Check back often, especially in the last few days before your dining date, when other guests cancel to avoid late cancellation fees.

  • Try different times and party sizes. A table for four might be open when a table for six isn't.

  • Look at similar restaurants. If Cinderella's Royal Table is full, a different princess or character meal can give your crew the same magic.

  • Ask your Travel Specialist. We check for openings for our families and know which alternatives are worth it.
