When Are the Universal Orlando Holidays in 2026?
Universal Orlando's holiday season runs November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027. That's 51 days of holiday fun, starting a full week earlier than last year.

The celebration covers all three theme parks (Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe), plus Universal CityWalk and all 11 Universal hotels. Everything in the parks is included with regular park admission. You don't need a special event ticket like you do for Disney's Christmas party. The decorations usually stay up into mid-January, even after the shows end.
Universal Orlando Holidays Quick Facts
Is the holiday celebration included with park tickets? Yes. Grinchmas, the parade, the Hogwarts Castle show, the holiday concerts, and all the decorations are included with regular park admission.
What's new for 2026? Epic Universe decorates SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk for the first time, and the season starts a week earlier.
What time is the holiday parade? It has been scheduled daily at 5:30 p.m. at Universal Studios Florida, weather permitting. Always confirm the time in the Universal Orlando app the day you go.

What's New for the Holidays at Universal Orlando in 2026?
The biggest news is Epic Universe. This is the park's second holiday season, and two of its worlds are decorating for the very first time.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: first-ever holiday decorations in the Mushroom Kingdom. Universal hasn't shared the full details yet.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: first-ever holiday decorations plus Snoggletog, the Vikings' winter holiday from the How to Train Your Dragon movies, with themed food and drinks.
A longer season: it starts November 14, a week earlier than 2025.
Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter now stretches across all three parks: Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and the Ministry of Magic.
A new Christmas Kowalski balloon (the penguin from Madagascar) joins the holiday parade.
What Is There to Do at Universal Studios Florida for Christmas?
Universal Studios Florida is home to Universal's Holiday Parade featuring Macy's, Christmas in Diagon Alley, holiday concerts, and the Holidays Tribute Store. It's also where you'll find the giant Christmas tree in the New York area.
Universal's Holiday Parade featuring Macy's
The parade runs every day of the season and has been scheduled at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. It's packed with giant Macy's balloons, floats, dancers, and characters from Despicable Me (hello, Minions), Shrek, and Madagascar.

The parade starts near the Universal Orlando Horror Make-Up Show and travels down the streets of Hollywood toward New York. It ends with Santa's arrival and the lighting of the park's giant Christmas tree, about 80 feet tall. Expect it to reach the middle of the route about 15 minutes after the official start time.
Where Is the Best Place to Watch the Holiday Parade?
The best spots are near the big Christmas tree in New York, because that's where the tree lighting happens. A favorite is across from the tree, next to Revenge of the Mummy.

Arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes early on quieter nights, and a full hour early on weekends and holiday weeks.
Spots closer to the start of the route (near the Horror Make-Up Show) fill up later, so they're a good backup if you're running behind.
Annual Passholders get a reserved viewing area in front of Mel's Drive-In, Thursdays through Sundays, first come, first served.
Kids under 10 can watch from the Lil Stars area in front of the Brown Derby Hat Shop.
The Universal Holiday Tour includes an optional reserved viewing area (more on that below).
TIP: Don't plan to hop over to Islands of Adventure on the Hogwarts Express right before the parade. Crowds build fast in the whole front of the park around parade time.
Christmas in Diagon Alley
Diagon Alley gets garland, lights, and holiday touches throughout, like pink ribbon bows on Madam Malkin's that match Hermione's Yule Ball dress. The London waterfront outside is lit up for the season too.
Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees perform a holiday show in Diagon Alley with four original songs. Even on busy days, arriving about five minutes early usually gets you a spot near the stage.
More Holiday Entertainment at Universal Studios Florida
The Blues Brothers holiday show: Jake and Elwood sing Christmas rhythm and blues, and it "snows" on Delancey Street at the end.
Marilyn and the Diamond Bellas: a Christmas edition of their show at Mel's Drive-In.
The Beat Builders: holiday classics played on buckets, pipes, and anything else they can drum on.
Madagascar characters pose for photos near the giant tree.
Earl the Squirrel, Universal's holiday mascot, meets guests across from the Horror Make-Up Show.
Show times change daily, so check the Universal Orlando app. These are easy to miss if you're just walking by.
Mannheim Steamroller, a longtime Universal holiday tradition, hasn't performed in recent seasons and isn't part of the 2026 lineup announced so far.
The Holidays Tribute Store
The Tribute Store across from the Christmas tree turns into six holiday rooms, including the Mistletoe Valley Holiday Market and Earl & Gerg's Nutcracker Lodge. It's free to walk through, and it's one of the best spots in the park for Christmas treats and holiday merchandise. You can even pick up Earl's storybook, The Tale of Earl the Squirrel.
What Is There to Do at Islands of Adventure for Christmas?
Islands of Adventure has Grinchmas in Seuss Landing and Christmas in Hogsmeade, which includes the nighttime Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle show. Seuss Landing is the most decorated area in the park, and Hogsmeade, with its snowy rooftops, feels like walking into a Christmas card.

Grinchmas in Seuss Landing
The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular is a live stage show of about 25 to 30 minutes that tells the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with the Grinch, the Whos of Who-ville, and a real live dog playing Max. It runs several times a day, and show times are posted in the Universal Orlando app.

Arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime on busy days.
The first and last shows of the day usually have the shortest lines.
The show is indoors, so it's a great break from the sun or a rain shower.
How Do You Meet the Grinch at Universal?
You can meet the Grinch at the Honk Honkers shop in Seuss Landing, and it's included with park admission. The catch is the line. It's standby only, and last season waits hit about 200 minutes in the morning and dropped to around 75 minutes by late afternoon before the line closed for the day.
Go late in the afternoon for the shortest wait, but get in line before it closes.
Want to skip the line? The Universal Holiday Tour includes a private Grinch and Max meet.
Citizens of Who-ville stroll the Street of the Lifted Lorax and gather near the Seuss Landing entrance by Port of Entry for photos.
The Who-ville Tree Lot, a photo spot full of whimsical Dr. Seuss-style trees, returns for its second year.
Rather meet him over breakfast? Our Grinch breakfast guide covers the Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast, where every family gets a Grinch photo.

Christmas in Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is decked out with garland, lights, and snow-covered rooftops. During the day, the Frog Choir (Hogwarts students with giant singing frogs) performs holiday concerts with wizarding carols and classic Christmas songs. Check the app for times.
The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle
The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle is an eight-minute projection show on Hogwarts Castle that plays on a loop, about every 20 minutes, from dusk until the park closes. It's full of holiday moments from the films, like the Yule Ball and Mr. Weasley's flying Ford Anglia plowing into snowmen.
TIP: Crowds are lightest right at dusk and near closing. If you walk up mid-show, just wait for the next loop. The next showing is never more than about 20 minutes away.
How Does Epic Universe Celebrate the Holidays?
Epic Universe goes bigger for the holidays this year, with decorations in four of its worlds plus holiday food and drinks. All of it is included with Epic Universe admission, which is separate from a standard 2-park ticket.
Celestial Park: a "cosmic winter wonderland" with twinkling trees and holiday displays at the Cosmos Fountain. Look for fun details like cheese grater bells at Pizza Moon, coral-filled trees by the Atlantic restaurant, and woodland creatures tucked into the trees at the Oak & Star Tavern.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: the Paris street (Place Cachée) gets holiday decor, like frosting on the K. Rammelle shop and measuring-tape bows at Mauricio Meurice Tailleurs. Warm up with Gluhwein (hot spiced wine) at Le Gobelet Noir or hot Butterbeer at Café L'air De La Sirène.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: holiday decor for the first time. Universal says more details are coming.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Snoggletog! Decorations are hidden in four of the shops, and Mead Hall serves Snoggletog Spiked Nog, Frozen Yaknog, and Gronckle's Bread Pudding. Hooligan's Grog & Gruel has a Snoggletog Harvest Mac and Cheese Cone.
Universal hasn't announced any holiday additions for Dark Universe.
What Holiday Food and Drinks Should You Try at Universal?
Hot Butterbeer is the must-try, and it's served across all three Wizarding World lands during the holidays. You'll find it at the Three Broomsticks and Hog's Head in Hogsmeade, The Leaky Cauldron and The Hopping Pot in Diagon Alley, and Café L'air De La Sirène and Le Gobelet Noir at Epic Universe.

Holiday treats to look for this year include:
The Elegant Ornament
Santa's Christmas Crème Puff
Snickerdoodle Crepe
Grinch Cookies
The Snoggletog menu at Epic Universe (see above)
Exact locations can change, so check the food section of the Universal Orlando app. The Holidays Tribute Store is also one of the best spots in Universal Studios Florida for Christmas sweets.
What's Happening at CityWalk and the Universal Hotels?
CityWalk and the hotels get in on the fun too, and you don't need a park ticket for either one.
The Green and Red Coconut Club: Red Coconut Club at CityWalk turns into a holiday lounge with festive decor, holiday cocktails, and live entertainment. This year's theme is "Mistletoe Pines Ski Lodges," and Earl the Squirrel hosts "Earl's Twelve Days of Christmas" upstairs.
Earl the Squirrel meets guests at CityWalk Plaza on select dates.
A holiday singing group performs on the fountain stage at CityWalk.
New Year's Eve: the theme parks and CityWalk typically stay open until midnight on December 31.
All 11 Universal hotels decorate to match their themes, and many host tree lightings, menorah lightings, holiday buffets, and live entertainment. Special holiday meals are usually offered on the holidays themselves, like Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve. Cabana Bay Beach Resort hosts a New Year's Eve Spectacular with face painting, balloon art, and a live DJ for its hotel guests.
Is the Universal Holiday Tour Worth It?
For families who want to meet the Grinch without a long line, yes. The Universal Holiday Tour is a guided experience of about 2½ hours that starts at $69.99 per person, plus tax.
A meet and greet with the Grinch and Max
Reserved seating for the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular
A photo opportunity with Santa Claus
Optional reserved viewing for the Holiday Parade featuring Macy's
Runs on select dates from November 14, 2026, through January 2, 2027
Requires a 1-day, 2-park, park-to-park ticket for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure (sold separately)
Annual and seasonal passholders save $10 per tour ticket
Bottom line: if your kids are Grinch fans and you're visiting on a busy December day, the tour pays for itself in time saved. It's also the only way we know of to get a Santa photo inside the parks, since Santa otherwise appears only in the parade.
When Does the Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast Open?
Universal hasn't released 2026 dates or prices for the Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast yet. It's held at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous in Seuss Landing, and it needs Islands of Adventure admission plus a paid reservation.
Last season it ran on select mornings from late November through late December.
Last season's price was $58.99 for adults (ages 10 and up) and $32.99 for kids (ages 3 to 9), plus tax.
Last season's menu included Green Eggs and Ham Quiche, Betty Lou Who Fluffy Ricotta Pancakes, and Mrs. Toffee Apple Dapple Cluck Crunch Chicken Sandwich.
Popular mornings sold out within days last year, so book the moment reservations open.
We'll update this guide as soon as 2026 reservations open.

What Tickets Do You Need for Universal at Christmas?
Every holiday event in this guide is included with regular admission to that park, but the type of ticket you buy decides how much you can see.
Park-to-Park ticket: the best choice for most families. You need it to see Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade on the same day, to ride the Hogwarts Express between them, and for the Holiday Tour.
Epic Universe: needs its own ticket, or a ticket that includes it. It isn't part of a standard 2-park ticket.
Universal Express Pass: lets you skip the regular line at most rides. We recommend it for Christmas week, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and weekends.
Free Express Unlimited: included for guests staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort, for every day of their stay at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
Early Park Admission: guests at Universal hotels can enter a select park up to one hour early.
Volcano Bay: closed for maintenance from October 26, 2026, until about April 1, 2027. The Universal hotel pools are heated.
When Is Universal Orlando Least Crowded at Christmas?
Weekdays from mid-November through mid-December are the sweet spot. You get the full holiday experience with much shorter lines than the weeks around Christmas and New Year's.
Busiest: Thanksgiving week, weekends, and December 20 through January 3. Christmas week and New Year's Eve are among the busiest days of the entire year.
Calmer: Monday through Thursday in late November (after Thanksgiving) and the first two weeks of December.
On busy days, do rides early, then save the holiday shows and the Hogwarts Castle show for the afternoon and evening.
